Message from the President

 The Junior League of Austin
The Strength of Women. The Power of Community.

Welcome to The Junior League of Austin! Founded in 1934, we are an organization of women whose mission is to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women, and to improve the community. This year we are providing more than $1.2 million dollars of direct financial support and over 100,000 Junior League volunteer hours to support over fifty local non-profit agencies, eight League programs, and two significant community endeavors, the Dell Children’s Medical Center and the Long Center for the Performing Arts. It is through the combined efforts and generous support of our volunteers, partner agencies, and donors that we are able to strengthen our community through creative solutions to current and future challenges.

Celebrating 75 years of service, we applaud “the strength of women and the power of community” in building a stronger city. The impact our organization makes is possible because of the more than 800 active and trained volunteer leaders who give approximately 70-100 hours of service on an annual basis on behalf of The Junior League of Austin. Our members are dedicated, professional and well-educated women who expertly manage the many demands on their valuable time with 75% of them being employed outside the home. The training our members receive through their volunteer service with the League enables them to become positive agents of change in the community within their businesses, schools, and/or other nonprofit work.
